In 2004 the park rebuilt Laumeier Project, a cedar structure with an interior room. Constructed in 1981 of 4 x 6 timbers, it had outlasted its expected 20 year span.  Although the exterior boards had deteriorated, the boards inside the structure were in excellent condition. There was enough wood to make 8 benches.
